So, I tried the Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol and Moisturizing Shampoo. First, let me say that I went swimming today with my daughter. So, I had to also use a shampoo to get rid of the chlorine (Suave for Kids). But, after that I used the Lustrasilk.
I like the shampoo. It doesn't give the hair much slip. Although, my hair felt soft as I was shampooing. It was a little squeaky feeling after I rinsed...but that could be because of the other shampoo I used. I also used it on my daughter's hair (she's 2), and I had not used the swim shampoo on her. I think her hair felt better. It didn't tangle the hair and it smells OK. Nothing special or bad about the scent.
After using the shampoo I put on some of the Cholesterol conditioner. My hair didn't feel very soft. I've used other cheapy shampoos (ie- Suave Coconut, Humectant) and my hair was softer. On my daughter's hair it felt the same, not very soft. But, I think her curls were more defined after rinsing it out. I actually still have it in my hair...which is almost dry now. So, I'll see what my hair feels like when I rinse it out. I'm thinking that I will have to use another conditioner as a rinse to make it a little softer. Not sure if this is a keeper. I'll probably use it until it's gone...glad I didn't get the 5 lb. jar. But, I may just use it as a leave in in the summer for shake and go's.
Tomorrow there is an event at a salon called, Curltopia, in Smyrna, GA. The two sisters that created the Miss Jessie's products will be there giving hair consultations. I will be able to get a consult with one of them, so I'm excited to see what they'll think of my hair and what recommendations they have. I have to go in with my hair natural and no product. So, looks like I'll be looking a hot mess tomorrow.
Enjoy the weekend! Peace
